PLANTS and Merkle Tree Certificates
Merkle Tree Certificates are a way to provide an equivalent proof of name to key that is provided by a conventional certificate, that is inheritly post quantum proof as it depends on hashes. It's goal is to avoid enormous PQ signatures and keys on the wire which become prohibitively large for repeated rapid validations suchas on modern busy web pages. At it's simplest form, it carries one pq signature, and provides a certificate size comparable to using RSA certificates today. At anoptimized form it can be even smaller. We will go over how this works, and what some considerations will be if you want to plan on using them in the future.
