Three Decades of OpenSSL: A Leadership Conversation
Thirty years ago, SSLeay — the library that became OpenSSL Library — was born from the work of Eric A. Young and Tim Hudson. In this conversation, moderated by Magda Zdunkiewicz, they join Matt Caswell to reflect on how a two-person project became critical global infrastructure, the lessons of three decades, and where OpenSSL Library goes from here.
— Compositor's note —
Co-author, with Tim Hudson, of SSLeay — the 1995 reference implementation of SSL that became OpenSSL after 1998. The first author to commit code to what would become the most widely deployed cryptographic library in history.
