The Last Mile of Trust

Cryptography rarely fails because of the math – it fails at the "last mile," where security fixes must ship across millions of deployed systems and global supply chains. As the industry confronts the twin revolutions of Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) and AI-scale security demands, the only durable defense is our collective ability to adapt and ship fast. In this keynote, Jonathan Felten shares hard operational lessons from running OpenSSL-derived cryptography at global enterprise scale and outlines how corporate patronage and community collaboration can ensure open-source cryptographic infrastructure remains resilient for the next decade.
